GRACEWAY COMMUNITIES HOST FIRST BACK-TO-SCHOOL FAIR IN GRAND TURK

Providenciales, September 2, 2023 — Graceway Communities, the charitable arm of Graceway Supermarkets, proudly hosted its first Back-to-School Fair in Grand Turk on September 2, 2023. The fair, held under the exciting carnival theme, provided a unique opportunity for primary as well as secondary school students. With the aim of fostering a healthy understanding of money management from an early age, Graceway Communities organized a vibrant event that combined education and entertainment. Students were encouraged to participate in various activities that simulated real-life spending scenarios, allowing them to grasp important financial concepts in a fun and interactive manner.

The Back-to-School Fair delighted attendees with an array of treats, games, face painting, prizes, food, and Sports. The carnival atmosphere created a joyful ambiance that resonated with students and parents alike, leaving them with lasting memories of a day filled with learning and enjoyment.

The event was graced by the presence of the Honourable Otis Morris, Representative for Grand Turk North, and Minister of Home Affairs, who declared the fair open, emphasizing the significance of financial education for the youth. Minister Morris expressed his support for Graceway Communities’ commitment to empowering the next generation with essential life skills.

Commenting on the back-to-school extravaganza Communications Manager Latoya Walkin stated “Graceway Communities purpose is to make a positive impact in the communities it serves. Through various programs and events, we strive to address pressing social issues and contribute to the well-being of individuals and families. The  Back-to-School Fair in Grand Turk stands as a testament to our ongoing commitment to education, financial literacy, and community engagement.

We would like to extend heartfelt appreciation to the following organizations and individuals for their invaluable contributions and dedication to the event’s success: Paul Elliott and Staff of Sports Commission, Women in Sports,  Rotary and Rotaract Club of Grand Turk,  The Red Cross, Honourable Rhonda Lee Knowles, Graceway Supermarkets staff, RAW’S Kitchen, Principal and Teachers of the Ona Glinton and Eliza Simons Primary school, Vice Principal of HJ Robinson High, Marcella Williams, Catherine Ann Forbes, Sharon Simmons, Alan Robinson of Fortis, Betty Ann Been and all other volunteers. Your time, effort, and enthusiasm in volunteering greatly enhanced the fair, creating an unforgettable experience for all attendees.”
