Paula Virgil-Stubbs Appointed as Protocol Assistant

#TurksandCaicos, August 17, 2023 – The Office of the Deputy Governor of the Turks and Caicos Islands is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Paula Virgil-Stubbs to the post of Protocol Assistant in the Protocol Unit within the Office of the Premier and Public Policy.

Ms. Virgil-Stubbs is currently pursuing an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration at the Turks and Caicos Islands Community College and completed a course in Protocol and Diplomatic Courtesies in September of 2021.

Ms. Virgil-Stubbs worked as a Salesclerk for the Turks and Caicos Islands Government (TCIG) at the Post Office in Grand Turk before relocating to Providenciales, taking up employment in the private sector.  She returned to TCIG 2018 in the Office of the Premier as an Administrative Officer in 2018 and began acting as the Senior Administrative Officer in 2021 until this most recent appointment.

Ms. Virgil-Stubbs, in commenting on her appointment, stated:

“I would first like to thank God for allowing all this possible.  To my family for all the love, support and always encouraging me to give my best…I would like to also thank the Turks and Caicos Islands Government for this new opportunity to embrace my skills and knowledge as I learn and gain more experience within my new role.”

“I am quite excited and delighted to have been afforded the opportunity Office, and I am confident that I will be an asset not only to the Office of the Premier and Public Policy but to TCIG and the Turks and Caicos Islands as a whole.”

Deputy Governor and Head of the Public Service, Her Excellency Anya Williams, in extending congratulatory remarks to Ms. Virgil-Stubbs, stated:

It gives me great pleasure to officially announce and congratulate Ms. Paula Virgil-Stubbs on her appointment to the post of Protocol Assistant in the Protocol Unit within the Office of the Premier and Public Policy.

We are pleased to welcome her to her new responsibilities and look forward to the much-needed support she will provide to government protocol.  The Protocol Unit will undergo various trainings throughout the region in the coming months as we work to raise government protocol standards across our islands.
