Man who impregnated 11 year old charged, the mother also charged

#TheBahamas, August 29, 2023 – The sex offender involved in one of The Bahamas’ recent sexual assault cases where an 11 year old girl was impregnated has been brought to justice, the child’s mother was also charged for causing her harm.

According to ZNS Network, the defendants, a man and woman, 45 and 40 years old respectively, appeared in court on Monday afternoon where they faced charges.

The man, unnamed, was charged with 5 counts of sex with a minor or dependent between the period of March and July 2023.

As highlighted by prosecutors these allegedly took place at the Kemp Road area residence..

As the Magnetic Media news team reported last week, the child received an abortion and so, her mother was charged with 3 counts of causing harm that are aggravated causing harm, intentionally helping a minor abort a fetus and failing to report the abuse of the minor.

During the court proceedings, the mother was secretly recording with her phone and upon being caught, the device was confiscated and the woman chastised.  The phone was cleared and returned and she wasn’t given any additional penalties, an easy let off as highlighted by the senior Magistrate, who expressed that other courts would’ve been stricter with issuing a penalty.
