Justin Smith Appointed as Senior Finance Officer

#TurksandCaicos, August 14, 2023 – The Office of the Deputy Governor of the Turks and Caicos Islands is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Justin Smith to the post of Senior Finance Officer in the Financial Services and Supplies Management Department (commonly referred to as the Treasury) within the Ministry of Finance, Investment, and Trade.

Mr Smith is a native of Grand Turk and holds an Associate Degree in Building and Design Technology and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration Specializing in Finance and Management from the Turks and Caicos Islands Community College.

Mr Smith joined the public service in 2008 as a Valuation Clerk and left a few years after, in September of 2013, to take on a role at the Turks and Caicos Financial Services Commission (FSC) as a Jr Insurance Officer. During his tenure at the FSC, Mr Smith rose through the ranks and eventually held the post of Insurance Analyst II/Head of Unit in the insurance department in Grand Turk.

Mr Smith, in commenting on his appointment, stated:

“I’m excited to be given the opportunity to embark on this new journey as a Senior Finance Officer within the Financial Services and Supplies Management Department (Treasury). I’m glad to rejoin the Turks and Caicos Islands Government (TCIG) to do my part in serving my people and country to the best of my ability. ”

Her Excellency Anya Williams, Deputy Governor and Head of the Public Service congratulated Mr Smith and stated the following:

I am pleased to officially announce and congratulate Mr Justin Smith on his appointment as Senior Finance Officer in the Financial Services and Supplies management within the Ministry of Finance, Investment, and Trade.

Senior Finance Officers play a critical role in the success of government operations and our ability to deliver on-time services to the public and projects for the public.

We wish Mr Smith well in his new assignment, and he has the support of the entire TCIG to continue to excel.
