Haiti, August 29, 2023 – Hours before a Kenyan delegation arrived in Haiti on Sunday August 20, Haitian gang leader Jimmy “Barbecue” Cherizier sent out a warning against foreign intervention in Haiti.

Kenya’s stabilization assistance is in line it says, with the African Union’s policy and efforts toward true pan Africanism.

Cherizier however said he stood on the side of Haitian people who fiercely object to any repeat of past abuses by foreign forces.

On Kenya’s word, the UN Security Council is expected to vote on whether a military force will enter Haiti.  Kenya’s Foreign and Diaspora CS, Alfred Mutua is quoted saying, “the deployment involves training and supporting the Haitian police, reflecting Kenya’s solidarity with global African communities.”

Many countries have vowed to join the effort to disrupt unchecked and escalating violence in the Republic including Jamaica, The Bahamas, the Dominican Republic and the United States.
