Experience Turks and Caicos Continues Consultation with Fish Fry Vendors

#TurksandCaicos, August 11, 2023 – The Ministry of Tourism and Experience Turks and Caicos is committed to showcasing and enhancing TCI’S cultural and culinary heritage at our weekly, Thursday Fish Fry on Providenciales.  The weekly, Thursday Fish Fry in Providenciales, was created to provide visitors with the unique opportunity to experience TCI through different types of local food, music, art and craft.  The Fish Fry offers Turks and Caicos Islanders an opportunity to showcase their unique culinary, art and craft to guests from all over the world and the inclusive economic growth benefits of tourism.

The Ministry of Tourism and Experience Turks and Caicos met with Fish Fry Vendors on Friday, August 4th, 2023, to discuss new standards for operations, infrastructure needs, health, and safety requirements.  The meeting was well-attended and productive, with vendors providing valuable feedback on the proposed changes. Experience Turks and Caicos outlined in the new Code of Conduct and Fish Fry Vendor Contract.

The Minister of Tourism, Hon. Josephine Connolly, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the fish fry vendors for their dedication to the Island Fish Fry.  ”I’m delighted to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the fish fry vendors who participated in our recent meetings. Ms. Candesha Mills, Product Manager for Experience Turks and Caicos, expressed “The meeting with our stakeholders for the island fish fry was productive and collaborative. The passion and commitment from everyone involved was evident and it was clear that we all share a common goal…. to enhance the overall experience for both our visitors and community. Together we can and will create a product that will leave a lasting impact on all who participate.”

This meeting is part of Experience Turks and Caicos’ ongoing efforts to cultivate relationships with all stakeholders in the Turks and Caicos Tourism Industry to enhance the visitor experience.  On July 18th, 2023, the Hon. Josephine Connolly – Minister of Tourism, Wesley Clerveaux -Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Mr. Avi Adams – Interim Director, Department of Tourism Regulations, Ms. Racquel Brown – Change Manager and Interim CEO, Experience Turks and Caicos met with vendors to discuss “The Way Forward” for the weekly, Thursday, Fish Fry.

Together with Island Fish Fry vendors, the Ministry of Tourism and Experience TCI aims to provide every visitor to the Turks and Caicos Islands with an authentic sample of island life.
