Turks and Caicos Islands Civil Service Association Shines at the 51st CPSA Conference in Belize

#TurksandCaicos, July 27, 2023 – The Turks and Caicos Islands Civil Service Association (TCICSA) proudly announce the successful participation and membership of its President, Mr. Demarco Williams, and Vice President, Mr. Clyde Greene, at the 51st Annual Conference of the Caribbean Public Services Association (CPSA). The conference, held in Belize from July 16-21, 2023, has brought together esteemed delegates from across the Caribbean to explore the theme “Fortifying Public Services Unions: safeguarding workers for a more resilient Caribbean Labour Movement.”

The CPSA conference provided a platform for thought-provoking discussions, insightful presentations, and meaningful networking opportunities. Delegates are engaged in diverse topics relevant to the modern challenges faced by public service unions in the Caribbean. The TCICSA representatives actively participate in these discussions, sharing their expertise and contributing valuable insights on various pressing issues affecting workers in the region.

Mr. Demarco Williams, President of TCICSA, stated, “I am pleased to have led our Civil Service Association to be a part of the international body of Presidents and have the support of my team. Attending the 51st CPSA Conference has been an incredibly enriching experience for our association. We are grateful for the opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue with our counterparts from across the Caribbean. The conference has further strengthened our commitment to safeguarding the rights and well-being of workers in our region as we strive for a more resilient Caribbean labour movement. This is the first time in the country’s history that TCISCA is now officially a part of an international body of Unions and Associations. Our goal is to continue to push for greater pastures for our body as we look into factors that affect public servants on a regional scale.”

Mr. Clyde Greene, Vice President of TCICSA, added, “The discussions held during the conference shed light on critical issues facing workers today. It is our duty as a Civil Service Association to actively address these challenges and ensure the rights and interests of our members are protected. We will return from the CPSA conference with fresh perspectives and renewed determination to fortify our public service association.”
