#TurksandCaicos, July 3, 2023 – The shooting victim was Javaughn Fulford of Kew, North Caicos and he was allegedly shot and assaulted on Thursday January 12, 2023 in Kew, North Caicos.

The man was airlifted to hospital in Providenciales where he underwent emergency life-saving surgeries, we are told.

For the serious shooting, two men were named as allegedly being involved and would be identified as: DOMINIQUE MISSICK and DANATREO GARDINER.

Both men have been charged differently and are presently in different courts to face the matter.

MISSICK’S shooting charges landed him on remanded at the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, whilst GARDINER’S assault occasioning actual bodily harm (AOABH) charge has him in the Magistrate’s Court before his honor Mr. Jolyon Hatmin.

Magnetic Media will report on a separate story when the Supreme Court case of DOMINIQUE MISSICK comes up in July.

Right now, we can focus on DANATREO GARDINER, who is represented by Lara Maroof-Misick, Magistrate’s Court proceedings.

This AOABH charge came up for arraignment first on March 31st, 2023.

The accused, Danatreo Gardiner pleaded not guilty and elected for his matter be tried in the Magistrate’s Court.

The Crown Public Prosecutor, at the time agreed with the election and the accused was granted $2,000 bail; the matter was adjourned.  The matter has been on a stand still since that date due the office of the DPP’s indication that it will make an application of “change of venue”, hoping for Gardiner’s matter to be sent up to the Supreme Court to join with the Supreme Court case of Dominique Missick.

The matter has being called over the past months (March, April, June ) and now, it is again delayed with an adjournment June 27th to a date for the hearing of the Crown’s application.  That hearing is slated for July 7, 2023.
