#TurksandCaicos, July 17, 2023 – On June 2, 2023 at the sufficiency hearing proceedings for a number of accused individuals were heard via Zoom video link.

At that time, Magnetic Media learned of a Bench Warrant which was issued for one JOSH MCINTOSH of Kew, North Caicos. This was in relation to a  October 15th, 2022, Kew, North Caicos firearm allegation laid against him.

The accused, McIntosh, failed to attend at the physical court house, nor did he appeared on the link at the time his name was called.

The Hon. Chief Justice Mrs. Mable Agyemang issued a bench warrant and we aired or published it in The Magnate; shortly after the warrant’s issuance.

JOSH MCINTOSH learnt of the warrant through our news publication and took the necessary steps by turning himself into the court house without being arrested, he then, spoke to the relevant court personal, explaining his mistake and apologizing for his none attendance.

The courts assistant to the judge, then told the Hon Judge that Mr. McIntosh was here and turned himself in on a bench warrant. The judge explained, that, despite his noble step, the warrant still has to be executed before he can be officially before the court.

The courts assistant then called a single police officer who was already in the court precincts, he then arrested McIntosh, executing the warrant and kept him at the court until he was officially called before a judge which was the Hon Justice Chris Selochan.

The police officer could have taken McIntosh into police station lock up, but due to his swift action to turn himself into authorities, calling off any need to search for him between Provo and North Caicos, there was leniency.

McIntosh also had the opportunity to apologize.

Principal public prosecutor, Clement Joseph told the judge the Crown is not opposing the re-granting of Mr. McIntosh’s bail. His bail was reissued and he was released to attend his sufficiency hearing in early July.

Magnetic Media has confirmed that on Friday July 7, McIntosh was present at the physical court house and was joined to a video link when his matter was called before the Hon Chief Justice.

He is charged with brandishing firearm with intent to cause fear to Lashawnda Jacquelle Smith, at Empire Bar in Kew, North Caicos, on October 15th, 2022.

McIntosh is represented by attorney, Finbar Grant and the matter was put off to  October 6, 2023.

McIntosh bail was extended.
