#TurksandCaicos, June 5, 2023 – Dileeni Daniel Selvaratnam recently celebrated her last Anguilla Day as Governor of the overseas territory as she prepares to move to the Turks and Caicos. Following this, her final ceremonial duty to Anguilla, former Governor Selvaratnam left the country on June 1st from the Clayton J Lloyd international airport.
After a month’s break, she will be headed here, to the TCI. According to the UK government, she is set to arrive at the end of June and will take over from Acting Governor Anya Williams.
Her endeavors in Anguilla seemingly continue to prepare her for work in the TCI.
In recent weeks, Selvaratnam has been meeting with experts on aviation security standards in Anguilla, concurrently the TCI is beginning its own process to digitize its borders both sea and air.
Along with the top brass of the local police, Selvaratnam has been dealing with an increase in gun related crime in Anguilla while also participating in rehabilitation efforts at the local prison including enriching their library.
Selvaratnam will be the country’s first ever female Governor and arrives this month.
