#TurksandCaicos, June 18, 2023 – Operation Pursuit, a new joint agency operation aimed at putting a stranglehold on all crime in the country, has revealed that there is a concerning number of residents on the country’s roads driving without authority to do so.

In the past six days alone 26 people have been found driving without a license or driving unlicensed cars in the Turks and Caicos and some now face impending prosecution.

The police didn’t specify whether the ever increasing group of residents had un-renewed licenses  or none at all but those weren’t the only infractions, in fact the number of people caught outside the law swells with each operation indicating the expansiveness of the issue.

During operations on June 9th, 10th and 12th a combined total of

  • Eighteen (18) residents were slapped with tissues for tickets issued for Using Motor Vehicle Without Proper Identification Plates
  • Twenty two (22) residents had no licenses for the cars they were driving Tickets Issued for unlicensed motor vehicles
  • Similarly ten (10) had no insurance
  • And four (4) were warned of intended prosecution for blatantly driving a motor vehicle without a license:

Throughout the process the number of vehicles towed swelled to 14 and a whopping 30 people were found at different locations including the airport and detained for immigration purposes.

Operation Pursuit was launched in late May.
