#Providenciales, Turks and Caicos, May 5, 2023 – Over 50 travel advisors came together at Beaches Turks and Caicos this week for a special “Back to the Beach” training experience in celebration of Global Travel Advisor Day.

Hosted by Garth Laird, Vice President Trade Sales for Unique Vacations, Inc. (UVI), UVI Regional Directors, and Beaches Turks and Caicos General Manager James McAnally, the three-day event was a celebration of the critical role travel advisors play in delivering visitors to the Caribbean, and included a visit by Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI) Minister of Tourism Hon. Josephine Connolly.

“We recognize the vital role that travel advisors play in the successes of our tourism and hospitality industry, bringing our islands and many other destinations into reality for millions of travelers annually,” said Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI) Minister of Tourism Hon. Josephine Connolly. “Your expertise, knowledge, and passion for travel help guide our visitors towards unforgettable experiences for which we are truly grateful. We look forward to continuing our partnership with you and promoting this beautiful island called the Turks and Caicos Islands, a world class destination.”

The exclusive “Back to the Beach” social media training session was led by UVI Senior BDM Ashley Kooker and UVI BDM Joe Vanderhoff, who teamed up to discuss the evolving social media landscape, Instagram posting strategies, video content production on TikTok and IG Reels, as well as tips for capturing content with new mediums, such as drones, and editing photos.

Another highlight of the event week was a festive luncheon held on Global Travel Advisor Day, May 3, where the TCI travel community — including members of the Turks and Caicos Hotel and Tourism Association (TCHTA) and Minister of Tourism Connolly — joined invited guests and hosts in celebrating the irrefutable contribution of travel advisors.
