#TurksandCaicos, May 30, 2023 – The long awaited North Caicos Promenade will be opened soon and vendors are now vying for a spot in the seaside craft village.

The Government held an instructional class headed by the Department of Environment and Coastal Resources, to guide residents with business ideas through the process of securing one of the booths for themselves.

In a 2022 advertisement, the Government had requested proposals for the leasing of booths and café at the Bottle Creek site.  At the time, it had said it was looking for projects with historical and cultural value to the country that would utilise local materials and promote local talent.

Construction of the Promenade began in the former PDM Administration under Ralph Higgs, former Minister of Tourism and has been ongoing since 2017 photos of the new attraction show a neat cluster of stalls with turquoise roofs that seem to almost match the colour of the water just behind them.

The Promenade will give vendors a uniform, clean, and attractive area to ply their wares and give tourists an opportunity to interact with and patronise many locals in a single location.  With the construction of a new hotel and several luxury homes currently ongoing on Dellis Cay, not far from North and Middle Caicos, plus the creation of a new international airport complete with customs and immigration offices, it is expected that visitor traffic to the island will significantly increase in the coming years.
