#TurksandCaicos, May 15, 2023 – Police have officially classified the suspicious death of Edrin Siffard, a 50 year old, as a murder following the Wednesday May 10 results of an autopsy performed on the man, whose death had been ruled suspicious at the onset.
The Haitian’s decomposing form had been found by police Sunday night after residents raised the alarm about a body lying off South Dock Road. Gunshots are fingered as the cause of death, and the autopsy revealed he was shot multiple times.
Initially, police had not speculated on the cause of death indicating they were waiting for an autopsy to be sure.
Still, perplexing to some is that no information has been shared on who the man is and how police came to know of his identity. Siffard had not been declared missing by police prior to his body being spotted by residents on Silverado Road, which is off South Dock Road and for many, the lack of information is unacceptable.
No suspects or motive have been conveyed by police in the peculiar homicide.
Of the four murders this year, police have arrested and charged the suspected perpetrator in the one case; that of Stephen Asino Baker of Jamaica who was stabbed to death on January 15th in Grand Turk.
A police statement on the murder did say investigations are continuing in the case of Siffard by the Serious Crime Unit.
