#TurksandCaicos, May 15, 2023 – Disturbing accounts are coming out of Five Cays, Providenciales on Thursday; it seems a grave was disturbed, maybe even robbed, according to reports reaching Magnetic Media.

Concerned residents contacted out to our news team Thursday morning claiming that it seemed a body had been dug up in the Five Cays Cemetery.  Photos accompanying the claims showed not one but several damaged graves.  Some had the concrete slabs slid to the side while others had been smashed open.

Even worse, the grave robbers managed to haul at least one coffin from its resting place.  It was discarded in the sun above ground, the top having been pried open and badly damaged, exposing the contents.

Residents visiting the site to see for themselves said, parts of the body including the head were missing; Magnetic Media was unable to confirm the report.

By Thursday afternoon, the black casket was seen being returned to an uncovered grave; those literally doing the heavy lifting donned protective garments.

Then on Mother’s Day came a second report; pointing to a serial offender.

With officials yet to comment on the first shocking incident discovered on May 11th, on Sunday May 14, residents sent photos of another resting place torn open.

The repeated, disturbing occurrences are making residents anxious as they query who are the culprits and why are they desecrating these sacred places.

None of the coffins in the obviously occupied graves were pried out this time, though not for a lack of trying.  At least two graves were broken into, the steel bent out of shape and concrete destroyed as culprits tried to access what was inside.

Neither the government nor police have commented on the disturbing sequence of events.

“Now, even in death it looks like our loved ones cannot rest in peace.  What is going on in this country,” questioned one woman in reaction to our news report.
