(Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands – Friday, 28 April 2023) The Premier Honourable Charles
Washington Misick will be leading a delegation to the Joint Ministerial Council (JMC) in London from 9th – 12th May 2023.

The JMC has on the agenda a series of meetings on pertinent matters relating to TCI governance and
matters of shared concern from the Turks and Caicos Islands and other British Overseas Territories.

Foreign Commonwealth Development Office, Lord Zac Goldsmith of Richmond Park.

While in the United Kingdom, the Premier and delegates will also host an engagement with students and
the diaspora in Manchester on 13th May 2023.

The Premier speaking on this visit stated: “I am looking forward engaging directly with the United
Kingdom Government on matters of national interest to the Turks and Caicos Islands and the wider British
Overseas Territory family.

As the most former Chairman of the United Kingdom Overseas Territory Association (UKOTA), the
Turks and Caicos Islands must continue to be a leading voice in the affairs of our counter parts as it relates
to achieving triple-bottom-line sustainability and economic advancement.

I am eager to speak with members of our diaspora living and working abroad with the hopes of attracting
them back to the TCI as we build a strong and stable society.”

The Deptuy Premier and Minister for Finance, Investment and Trade, Honourable Erwin Jay Saunders
will serve as Acting Premier for the duration of the Premier’s absence.

The JMC brings together political leaders from the Overseas Territories and UK Ministers. The JMC is
the principle forum for reviewing and implementing the shared strategy for promoting the security and
good governance of the Territories and their sustainable economic and social development.
