National Neighborhood Watch Council Inducts Officers at Installation Ceremony

#TheBahamas, April 21, 2023 – The Acting Minister of National Security, the Honorable Jomo Campbell, MP, congratulated the National Neighborhood Watch Executive Council (NNWC) for their continued performances, during their Installation Ceremony on Thursday April 13, 2023, at the Orville Turnquest Building, John F. Kennedy Drive.

Bringing remarks on behalf of Minister Wayne Munroe, the Honorable Campbell congratulated Chairman Wong and the Executives of the (NNWC) on their achievement and encouraged them to continue the movement of the program, which has a rich history and a bright future.

“The dynamics of each of the communities you serve are different hence as Executives you will be called upon to make sacrifices of your time, creative energy and resources”, said Honorable Campbell. “Taking your responsibilities seriously is critical to the sustainability of the program. More than any other you have the golden opportunity in shaping the group and to design its potential. Your attitude and leadership consistency are pivotal”.

Also bringing remarks were Chairman Keno Wong, and Mrs. Ismella Delancy, National Coordinator, NNWC. Both officers also congratulated the newly elected officers in achieving the milestone and reminded them that while accepting the call to serve, they are to be mindful you to providing exemplary leadership while being cognizant of the ever-changing environment.

Chairman Wong in his remarks said that the NNWC program was organized on April 30, 2018, with 40 crime watch associations. Today this program has grown to 167 watch groups in New Providence, Freeport Grand Bahama, Exuma, Abaco and Eleuthera. He encouraged every community throughout The Bahamas to join hands together with the Police to create safer and better communities.
