Ministry announces scholarships

#TurksandCaicos, April 6, 2023 – The Ministry of Education has revealed the scholarship opportunities for the academic year 2023/24, in keeping with its new system. The ministry says available are:
Special Financial Assistance Awards 2023 – National Scholars
- These will be awarded to the four best performing students at the national level in CXCs and IGCSEs. THREE Turks and Caicos Islanders and ONE British Overseas Territory Citizen will be awarded a maximum of $40,000.
Standard Financial Assistance Awards 2023
This category covers a range of awards including Cadet financial Assistance; the Turks and Caicos Islands
- Selected Turks and Caicos Islanders will receive a maximum of $30,000 – $35,000 depending on the area of study,
- Partial assistance is also available for Islanders up to a maximum of $25,000 depending on the areas of study.

Special Education Needs Assistance Awards 2023
THREE Turks and Caicos Islanders who qualify as special needs students based on the Special Needs Education Policy 2016, will be awarded a maximum of $25,000.
Athletic Financial Assistance Awards 2023
THREE Turks and Caicos Islanders who are student athletes and meet the minimum requirements of the TCI National Financial Assistance Award Policy, will be afforded the opportunity to study in an area of their choosing at an accredited Institution with a maximum scholarship of $30,000.
An exhaustive list of instructions criteria and absorbable awards are available on the TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS’ SCHOLARSHIP SECRETARIAT website. The deadline for applications is May 31st.
