#TurksandCaicos, April 26, 2023 – A pilot working for InterCaribbean Airways is now under investigation by the Narcotics Police in Jamaica after marijuana was found in his luggage on Sunday April 23rd.  InterCaribbean Airways CEO (Chief Executive Officer) Trevor Sadler has confirmed that the crew member was handed over to the authorities.

The shocking reveal was condemned in no uncertain terms by Sadler who in an update to Magnetic Media, said the bag had been flagged by the security team in Jamaica.

Local Jamaican media houses say 17 pounds of marijuana was found on the pilot as he prepared to come back to the Turks and Caicos.

“Today on a routine inspection by our ground security team In Kingston, Jamaica, it was noted that a bag believed to be checked by a crew member contained what appeared to be an illegal substance.”

Maintaining that the Turks and Caicos Airline had a zero-tolerance policy for illegal activities of any sort, Sadler said.

“The bag and crewmember were handed over to the authorities.  Arrangements were made promptly to send another crew in order to resume the flight operation and allow our travelers to finish their journey.”
