Don Lemon gone from CNN

#USA, April 26, 2023 – Don Lemon has been fired from CNN after 17 years.  The now former anchor and co-host of CNN’s recent “This Morning” Programme, said he is stunned by the news which was delivered to him by his agent.

CNN’s Chris Licht said in a statement that they wish him well and will cheer him on in his future endeavors.

“To my CNN Colleagues, CNN and Don have parted ways.  Don will forever be a part of CNN and we thank him for his contributions over the past 17 years,” he said.

While the reason for CNN’s decision to let Lemon go was not revealed by the network or Don himself, it is generally believed that it is in connection to his recent candor, which landed him into hot water.

Lemon’s comments about Nikki Haley, Republican presidential hopeful and former UN Ambassador and Governor of South California about her age- 51 –  sparked outrage in some quarters.  Seen as sexist, Lemon told viewers, “When a woman is considered to be in her prime – in her 20s, 30s and maybe her 40s,” he stated.

“I’m just saying what the facts are – Google it,” he further said, responding to the objections of his female co-hosts, Poppy Harlow and Kaitlan Collins.

In addition to this, his reputation was further tarnished by a Variety report in April which highlighted accusations of rude and misogynistic behavior towards his CNN colleagues.

Don Lemon took to Twitter and said that he was never given any indication that he would be fired.  But considering the accusations, some would say he probably had it coming.
