#TurksandCaicos, March 23, 2023 – Arsonists’ targeting on duty Police are costing the Turks and Caicos taxpayers money.  The Government has informed that it now has had to pay for vehicles which were totalled in intentional acts of destruction.

Rightly so; the TCIG has approved payouts to compensate for destroyed vehicles.

The Cabinet, on March 8th, approved the cash for the deliberate arson attacks which saw personal vehicles destroyed, the Government says, whilst going about their normal duties. The attacks also threaten the safety of members of the Force.

While the public is learning that there will be compensation to those affected and this has happened frequently enough that some actions are being considered; there is no dollar figure shared and no disclosure detailing the attacks.
