Sweet Redemption for TCI, blanking USVI

#TurksandCaicos, March 27, 2023 – After a 3-2 loss against the Dashing Eagles in June, the Turks and Caicos Islands had a vindicating comeback finishing victorious with 1-0 against the US Virgin Islands on Saturday March 25th, at the TCIFA National Academy.
The first half of the match wasn’t hot for either team.
But on the 69th minute mark things started to bubble as TCI, the hosting team, had their moment of truth with a sizzling play; the shot slipping through giving Turks and Caicos is first goal of the game. Delivered by Jeff Beljour, the home crowd went wild.
A moment of truth for the squad and a second win which now advances the TCI Men’s National team to third place, while USVI is pushed to fourth place.
On Tuesday, March 28th, both teams will compete in their final match. The US Virgin Island will host and kick against Sint Maarten while the Turks and Caicos meets Bonaire on the pitch; the team is already safely landed in the Dutch islands.
