Swann appointed, TCI Premier names new Temp Tourist Board Director

#TurksandCaicos, March 16, 2023 – Cabinet has appointed Miquel Swann as Temporary Director of the Tourist Board to lead the county’s transition from Tourist Board to DMO/DMMO.
Premier Washington Misick made the announcement this afternoon via press release indicating that the
Swann will take a supervisory role regarding the outgoing Tourist Board, overseeing the day-to-day operations and the onboarding of the new entity and providing regular updates and reports to Cabinet.
Premier Misick, in whose office Swann is stationed, said it was ‘important that we utilize the skills of our civil servants.’ And expressed confidence in Swann in the role.
Swann also got a nod from Josephine Connolly, Minister of Tourism who mentioned the time sensitive nature of the transition.
The DMMO is supposed to be up and running by the end of June, which is three and a half months away. If it isn’t the Government will have to request that the Tourist Board employees who all received severance letters in February contrary to previous promises come back and fill the gap until it is.
