#TurksandCaicos, March 15, 2023 – The Providenciales International Airport was struck with several delays on Tuesday morning; Travelers reached out to us saying they were still on the ground hours after they were supposed to leave subjecting them to up to three hours of additional wait time.

Nikeva Ariza, Manager of Corporate Affairs, Communication and Community Engagement told us the issue was not on PLS.

“Miami Air Center is having some problems communicating with the Air Traffic control here,” she said.

However, based on flight itineraries seen by Magnetic Media, delays appeared to have affected not only the Miami International Airport (MIA) but also the Charlotte Douglas International Airport, that’s in North Carolina.

The American Airlines Flight 2925 out of Miami was delayed two hours, as was American Airlines flight 201. Flight tracking site Flight Aware confirmed the flights were off schedule.

American Airlines flight 611 from Charlotte, North Carolina, was delayed for just over an hour. Also late from Charlotte was flight 879, this time for three hours making its return flight delayed as well.

Ariza could not say when the issue would be resolved as it was not on the Providenciales end; indicating that this may not be the end to delays but a beginning.
