#TurksandCaicos, March 6, 2023 – The Police are investigating several incidents of aggravated burglaries that happened last weekend but no mention of the poor response time reported by residents.

In a press release Monday evening they said on Friday (February 24th)  in Grace Bay Providenciales a family complete with two children were dragged out of bed when armed men broke into their home.  Police say  at 10.47 pm, they received a call regarding the robbery.  The men then escaped with several valuables.

On Sunday night two more families were robbed.  Police say they received phone calls around 11:21 Sunday night (February 26th) from residents from Woodland Street, Blue Hills, Providencials alerting them to a robbery.

When the RTCIPF officers arrived after this, two persons had already been robbed between 10pm and 10:30 pm by two armed men who were wearing dark clothing and masks covering their faces.

The gunmen stole a black 2010 Nissan March and other valuables before escaping. Police did not comment on the difficulties residents reported with the emergency lines or the long wait that some residents reported experiencing before help arrived.

The police say they need help to solve this crime and residents are being advised to notify the closest police station or to contact Crime Stoppers and give any information regarding these robberies or any illegal activity anonymously.
