March 23, 2023 – Carnival Cruises has become the first Cruise Line to sail 100 million guests.  The Cruise Line made the announcement on March 16th, describing it as an industry milestone.

Founded in 1972, it is one of the older cruise lines close to, but younger than, the Norwegian and Royal Caribbean cruises, which were all created within a decade of each other.

Ohio couple Debi and David Clifford were the 100 millionth and they were greeted with fanfare on the Carnival Sunshine, getting visits from Christine Duffy, the President of Carnival, plus the ship’s Captain and Crew.

“We’re the first cruise line to meet this incredible mark of 100 million guests and I believe it is a testament to the fun, inclusive atmosphere our valued guests and our extraordinary team members have created together on board our ships, for the past 51 years,” said Duffy, in a company press release.

For now, Carnival Cruises is the only cruise line with a port stop in the Turks and Caicos Islands, single handedly providing hundreds of thousands of visitors to Grand Turk on a yearly basis.
