Why dismantle something if it’s not broken?

#TurksandCaicos, February 7, 2023 – As it relates to the tourism board layoffs, in my opinion, it’s very disappointing and a slap in the faces of those dedicated tourism employees who helped to make TCI a destination of choice. There are many unanswered questions still lingering.
Why dismantle something if it’s not broken?
Does this Destination Management Company have a term limit?
Would it have been prudent to hire an outside Consultant to build on what the management team had already accomplished?
Was this decision forced, due to failure to empower department heads and employees in the workplace?
Albeit, this move may broaden our horizon, but let’s be clear, it’s our story, our experiences and our passion that brought us to this point of being one of the most desirable destinations in the Caribbean if not the world and no one can take it away.
With that being said, in order for TCI to continually compete for world class service in the marketplace, we need to start recognizing homegrown talent and capitalize on the experience and expertise of our people.
