#TurksandCaicos, February 2, 2023 – The Turks and Caicos Islands were featured on Good Morning Washington’s Caribbean Spotlight on Wednesday morning (January 25th) with an appearance from Tourism Minister Josephine Connolly; reaching a potential 1.2 million households.

The WJLA-run show airs in the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia (DMV) in the US Capital and WJLA viewership lands at around over 1 million.

Describing it as the Jewel of the Caribbean, Connolly discussed the different offerings in the Turks and Caicos emphasizing that there was something for everyone. She noted that for adventurous visitors there were activities like scuba diving and fishing in Grand Turk and Salt Cay, for lovers and honeymooners there were private getaways on Ambergris and Pine Cay and fine food and experiences in Providenciales for everyone.

A promotional video showcasing the best of the Turks and Caicos from whale watching to diving to food, with cameos from local residents was broadcast during the interview for viewers to experience. The call was for residents of the DMV area to breakaway for a TCI holiday to ‘Reset’!

The possibility of “breakfast in Miami and lunch in the Turks and Caicos’ was the hook for Good Morning Washington host Eileen Wheelan, who honeymooned in the Turks and Caicos, she joked.

“We are already getting to our computers to make this trip and book it right now– we’ll be seeing you in the islands!”

You can watch the promotional video on the TCI Tourist Board Youtube channel.
