Premier Attends Beaches Event, Delivers Keynote to ASTA Executives

#TurksandCaicos, February 9, 2023 – The American Society Travel Advisors (ASTA) Chapter Presidents and Board of Directors hosted their annual meeting at Beaches Turks and Caicos on Sunday, 5th February 2023. The Premier of the Turks and Caicos Islands, Honourable Charles Washington Misick delivered the keynote address which he emphasised the value and impact of tourism to these islands and highlighted his government’s commitment to destination management going forward. 

“Our aspiration is to create the most visitor centric destination in the world – one that is exquisite, inclusive and sustainable delivering the highest customer satisfaction,” Premier Misick said.

While addressing some of the existing challenges, the Premier highlighted that his government is committed to the rapid improvement of user arrival and departure experience at the Howard Hamilton International Airport. He added: “I am pleased to say that we are making progress towards investing 300 plus million dollars in the construction of a new air terminal here in Providenciales.”

The three-year construction plan is scheduled to begin at the end of 2023.

Joining the Premier at the dinner was his spouse, First Lady Delthia Misick as well as the Minister with responsibility for Tourism, Hon. Josephine Connolly.

The President and CEO of ASTA, Mr. Zane Kirby attended the event along with travel representatives from all fifty (50) United States of America.
