The four-day workweek system that has been on trial in Britain and other parts of the world seems to have stirred curiosity in Jamaica. While several companies have taken on a work-from-home system and more flexible hours since the pandemic, many believe that implementing a four-day workweek would make workers happier and increase productivity.

It was revealed from the six months trial in Britain including 61 companies that most employees found the system less stressful.  Revenue during the sixth month period either remained the same or increased in comparison to the same period last year.

A poll was conducted in Jamaica where 63 percent of the 237 voters agreed that a four-day workweek would be beneficial to employees.   Another 22 percent said even if the system proved to be efficient, many companies would not implement it.
