#TheBahamas, January 23, 2023 – The first International House of Pancakes (IHOP) to be located in the Caribbean is expected to open next month at The Mall at Marathon in the Bahamas, and according to the Nassau Guardian, a second location is already in the works.
The news was revealed by one of the restaurant’s executives, who spoke with the Bahamas-based media entity. The executive explained that construction for both locations is ongoing, with the first to open in early February.
Initially, when news broke about the US-based restaurant opening a franchise in the Bahamas in January last year, it was scheduled to open in late 2022, but it seems some hiccups had delayed the opening, as the executive noted that there were challenges during the construction.
“The biggest impediment is obviously the supply chain,” the executive explained. “Shipping stuff has been a massive challenge.”
Nonetheless, I-HOP, which is huge among Bahamians, will be opening soon with elements of a take-out to cater to the public’s needs.
A Job Fair, held in conjunction with the Department of Labour on Saturday January 21 is seeking the 200 staff members the new franchise says it needs in order to open this year.
