#TurksandCaicos, January 20, 2023 – Two suspects were in custody after a 33 year-old Jamaican chef was stabbed to death in Grand Turk last weekend.  The killing is the first for 2023, recorded on Sunday January 15,2023.

Civilian reports indicate the man had been on an outing with friends and was dropped off at home in the early hours of Sunday morning, where the stabbing took place.

Police say around 3:30 am they received a report of the incident.  The investigative team responding to the stabbing, which occurred in the Palm Grove area, observed a male lying on the ground unresponsive, bleeding from a stab wound to the chest.

He was declared dead by a medical practitioner.

The young man had reportedly attempted to get help for himself, he ran to a neighboring property but collapsed in the road, according to residents who described the scene to Magnetic Media.

The man is said to be an employee at Margaritaville at the Grand Turk Cruise Center; Police also discouraged the sharing of information on social media in order to ensure the man’s family was duly notified of his shocking killing.

No motive in this first murder for TCI in 2023 was provided by Police.
