#TurksandCaicos, January 15, 2023 – One of the Turks and Caicos’ most beloved educators Florence Parker-Ewing passed away over the holidays after a bout of illness.  Parker-Ewing spent over 30-years as a nurturing educator at the Precious Treasures International School with a career spanning from 1989 to 2019.

Describing her as a stalwart in her field the PTIS said, “During her time at PTIS she touched, in a very impactful way, the lives of several hundred young people, many who are now professionals, not only here at home but around the world.  She was indeed the mother away from home for all these toddlers who would be potty-trained, fed, taught and lovingly cared for by her. She was one of the most loyal, dedicated and loved members of our faculty.”

Parker-Ewing was forced to step away from teaching in 2019 but visited PTIS when she was able.

The School’s administrators said they had greatly anticipated her return.

“Whenever she would stop by it was as if the school came alive again.”

“Allan, Yvonne, staff and the school family expresses condolences to her family in this time of bereavement . We miss you Ms. Flo.

“Gone too soon” but you are surely in a better place.”
