Shatelia Hall-Greene appointed as Deputy Director of the Financial Transactions and Information Exchange Unit

#TurksandCaicos, December 13, 2022 – The Office of the Deputy Governor of the Turks and Caicos Islands is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Shatelia Hall-Greene to the post of Deputy Director of the Financial Transactions and Information Exchange Unit, former Exchange of Information (EOI) Unit, in the Ministry of Finance, Trade and Investment.

Mrs. Hall-Greene graduated with an LLB (Hons) from the University of Buckingham, United Kingdom in February of 2009 and subsequently completed a Post graduate Diploma from the then College of Law now University of Law in Bar Vocational Studies in 2010.

She was called to the Bar of England and Wales in November of 2010 and has been a member of the Turks and Caicos Bar since June of 2011.

In 2013 she took up employment in the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions as a Public Prosecutor where she was the recipient of various training opportunities including her success in becoming qualified as an Assessor with the Caribbean Financial Action Task Force.

In 2019 Mrs. Hall-Greene advanced to the post of Senior Public Prosecutor within the ODPP, where she continued training and became a trained Restorative Justice Mediator through the Judicial Education Institute via The University of the West Indies.

Mrs. Hall-Greene in commenting on her new appointment stated:

“After close to 10 years of being an advocate I embrace this new role in the Ministry of Finance-Financial Transactions and Information Unit, former Exchange of Information Unit as a welcomed change.

I see this as an opportunity to use my skills and knowledge to contribute to this Department and by extension the Turks & Caicos Government.

I see this as an opportunity for self-development as well, for I know that change in inevitable and we must push ourselves from self-proclaimed ‘comfort zones’ into areas where we can be pushed to further expertise and talent.

With that in mind I thank the head of the Civil Service and the Ministry of Finance for affording me this opportunity, and commit my endeavor best to the Unit.”

Deputy Governor and Head of the Public Service Her Excellency Anya Williams in extending congratulatory remarks to Mrs. Hall-Greene stated:

“Congratulations is extended to Mrs. Shatelia Hall-Greene on her appointment as the new Deputy Director of the Financial Transactions and Exchange of Information Unit following the promotion of former Deputy Director Mrs. Nasiya Misick-Dickenson to the post of Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, Trade and Investment.

It is always a pleasure to see civil servants being promoted and moving up the ranks of the public service.

The Financial Transactions and Exchange of Information Unit is responsible for the exchange of tax related information between the Turks and Caicos Islands and it’s Treaty Partners in accordance with agreed standards to assist in combatting tax evasion and to improve the TCI’s image with our international tax partners and regulatory organizations.

I wish Mrs. Hall-Greene well in her new role and congratulate her on well deserved promotion.
