In the world standings Croatia sit at number 13 and Argentina at number three but Croatia sent the number one team home on Friday head in hands.
The two teams first met each other in the 1998 World Cup. In that match up, Argentina blanked Croatia. Twenty (20) years later Croatia got their comeuppance with a massive 3-0 win over Argentina in the 2018 World Cup on their way to the finals. As they both hold one World Cup win over the other, Tuesday’s match will break the tie and send one of them on to a shot at glory; the stakes are higher than they have ever been.
