#UnitedKingdom, December 5, 2022 – Much of the UK is expecting an early Christmas chill as temperatures are predicted to drop to unusual lows by Tuesday December 6th with snow for some areas based on advisories from the UK Meteorological Service.

The Met said the weather would be turning very cold across the entirety of the UK with widespread overnight frosts. Snow showers will mainly affect northern Scotland, but some wintry showers could develop elsewhere at times. By Wednesday Northern Ireland and even sections of England could be experiencing snow.

It’s the first warning of snow for anywhere other than the UK’s mountains this season.

The temperatures will be just above freezing once the sun is out and could fall below freezing once night falls.  The extreme cold after a record hot summer is thanks to an arctic wind coming from far up north.

The early frost is unwelcome for many with families already facing massive energy bills as the government struggles through without Russian oil and gas.
