#Guyana, December 26, 2022 – The Guyana Defence Force is set to receive free housing materials and one month’s bonus from the government. The bonus will go along with the recent 8 per cent salary increase.

President, Dr Mohammed Irfaan Ali said the New Building Society as well as three commercial banks have decided to offer a 3.5 per cent interest rate for loans less than GYD $4 million, and 3.75 per cent below GYD $8 million. This initiative is part of the government’s dedication to creating opportunities for these soldiers.

“We will help you with the plans and the design free of cost. You will get the cement and steel for the foundation and the banks will approve your loans right here so in the new year you can move to home ownership,” Ali told the ranks at their annual Christmas Lunch at Base Camp on Wednesday.
