More Nursing Training for Dominica

#Dominica, December 23, 2022 – Following the increase in deaths from Chronic Non-Communicable diseases (NCDs, the training of Healthcare Nurses will resume in Dominica.

Prime Minister, Roosevelt Skerrit made this announcement at the swearing-in ceremony on December 6, emphasizing the importance of Nurses doing home visits to check on patients.

Rebuilding the Healthcare sector is a priority for the government which has partnered with MMC Development Ltd to erect modern health and wellness centres island wide.  MMC Development Ltd noted that these centres will have all the equipment and furnishings necessary to provide the best Healthcare to Dominicans.

“Exercising, eating right, managing stress and anxiety in our country, which is a major threat to our health…,” the Prime Minister said, adding that NCDs should be prevented rather than treated.
