Multi Agency Road Check Operations – 19 Persons detained
#TurksandCaicos, November 21, 2022 – Thirty-seven (37) officers from the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force, the Royal Bahamas Police Force, supported by Immigration Enforcement Officers and staff from the Road Safety Department were involved in road checks in Grace Bay and Long Bay, yesterday (November 17th)
Nineteen people were detained under the Immigration Ordinance.
Additionally, 80 road vehicles were checked, 45 tickets issued, five vehicles were seized and towed and more tints were removed from vehicles.
These operations, which focused on community safety and security issues, will continue across the Turks and Caicos to prevent and detect crime, while at the same time, enhancing road safety and compliance with legislation.
