Kacey Lewis appointed Principal Architect & Head of Public Works Project Management Division

#TurksandCaicos, November 22, 2022 – The Office of the Deputy Governor of the Turks and Caicos Islands is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Kacey Lewis to the post of Principal Architect and Head of the Public Works Project Management Division in the Ministry of Physical Planning and Infrastructure Development.

Mr. Lewis holds an Associate of Arts Degree from the College of the Bahamas and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Architectural Studies from Florida International University in Miami, Florida.

Having joined the Turks and Caicos Islands Government as a Draftsman in 1999, Mr. Lewis in 2006 was promoted to the post of Assistant Architect; a post he held for 7 years before being promoted to the post of Project Architect in 2013 and to the post of Project Manager in 2018, a post he has held for the last four years.

Commenting on his appointment Mr. Lewis stated: “I am grateful for the opportunity to progress in my professional field.  Not only am I grateful, but humbled by the confidence in me to operate in a managerial role. I do not take this promotion lightly and promise to continue to serve my people and country to the best of my ability. I believe that this is a move in the right direction and applaud the authorities for empowering and promoting our young and aspiring Turks and Caicos Islanders to be a part of the positive change in the development of our country. I look forward to serving in this new capacity.”

Deputy Governor and Head of the Public Service Her Excellency Anya Williams in extending congratulatory remarks to Mr. Lewis stated: “It gives me great pleasure to officially congratulate Mr. Kacey Lewis on his appointment as the new Principal Architect and Head of the Public Works Project Management Division in the Ministry of Physical Planning and Infrastructure Development.

Mr. Lewis began his public service career 20 years ago in an entry level position in the Public Works Department and has worked diligently over the years to obtain numerous promotions, now culminating in him being appointed to as the Head of the Project Management Division.

The Principal Architect and Head of the Project Management Division is responsible for the design of all Government architectural works, across the islands, and is required to oversee, inspect and monitor project progress to ensure quality assurance and quality controls are maintained.

The post holder is also responsible for preparing capital budgets, for effectively managing same to ensure financial prudence and for providing managerial oversight and control of the Division staff and resources.

Mr. Lewis is an ardent worker who has been instrumental in the delivery of a number of key government projects over the years and has proven his ability to lead.

I wish him well on his new appointment and know that he will do exceptionally well.
