#USA, November 16, 2022 – Despite only winning the position by a hair in 2018, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis trounced his democratic counterpart 59 to 40 in the most recent elections.  US media houses say it is one of the widest margins in Florida in two decades and may set him up for a presidential run in 2024

The major win alters the political landscape in Florida; DeSantis scooped several democratic strongholds as the state continues to lean further right in its voting pattern.

DeSantis became notorious during the pandemic for his anti-mask and anti-abortion rhetoric.

His policies on these and issues such as race theory in the classroom made him wildly popular with conservative voters.  Not even his recent involvement in flying migrants to Martha’s Vineyard without their knowledge could derail his success.

Some are none too pleased with his victory however.  His trajectory puts him on a straight path to clash with former President Donald Trump who is also expected to announce a run for election in 2024.  While neither man has confirmed they are running for President,  Trump has already took to publicly warning DeSantis not to run or he “could hurt himself very badly”.

Trump has also taken to calling him names and threatening to reveal secret information about Florida Governor Desantis.
