November 23, 2022 – In an unbelievable World Cup upset Saudi Arabia snuck by Argentina on Tuesday to snatch a 2-1 victory.  Argentina one of the favorites in the Cup dominated the match holding on to possession of the ball for 70 per cent of it and taking 15 shots to Saudi Arabia’s three and they were up 1- nil at halftime.

But though they managed to score four goals, three of them were ruled offside.  Then came trouble.  Within eight minutes in the second half, the Saudis through  Saleh Al-Shehri and  Salem Al-Dawsari managed to score not one but two goals putting them in the lead and the Lionel Messi led team, previously unbeaten for 36 matches, could not recover in time.

It was celebration and a heart break after that as the Saudi’s back-flipped across the field and the Argentinians put their heads in hands.

Sporting stations are ranking it as one of the biggest upsets in World Cup History.  Saudi Arabia is now ranked at the top of Group C while Argentina sits at the bottom.
