#TurksandCaicos, October 24, 2022 – The second firearm amnesty of the year has ended as the first did, without any illegal weapons turned over to the police.

The month long Firearm and Ammunition Amnesty in honor of Justin Cox Beckles themed “Surrender A Gun, Save A Life” concluded on Saturday October 15th.

“Sadly, no one took advantage of this opportunity to surrender their homes and properties of these lethal weapons.” The police said on Wednesday in a press release

During the amnesty, shootings and murders continued, fueled by local and international gangsters careless about any potential innocents in the vicinity.

Despite the amnesty going bust, those gunmen have been eerily silent for the last two weeks.  There have been no shootings or other violent explosions in the Turks and Caicos since the arrival of a Bahamian contingent followed by the US and the UK over the past two weeks.

The partnership with the Bahamas and US aircraft will not last forever, and while police officers have reported finding ammunition in at least one of several raids so far, there have been no reports of the high-powered weapons which were used to terrify and murder people in Providenciales.
