#TurksandCaicos, October 13, 2022 – Seven suspects have been arrested in what may be one of the largest roundups of suspected criminals this year. ‘Operation Anaconda’ as the police are calling it, was a fifty-eight man, day-light raid carried out in Dock Yard on Tuesday afternoon.

Magnetic Media had received reports of a long caravan of police vehicles making their way through the maze-like community in the late afternoon. While the presence was welcomed people were left confused about what exactly was happening.

We now know that the police were targeting several areas that they say are ‘linked to serious crime.’ In addition to the seven held for their involvement in criminal activity the operation picked up items related to potential gang violence including ammunition.

“Yesterday’s intelligence led operation in Dock Yard directly targeted those whom we believe have been involved in serious crime and gang related activity.  A total of 58 officers consisting of joint teams from tactical, armed and investigations units, supported by police dogs and forensic teams formed part of the multi-pronged operation in areas where gang killings and violence have erupted,” said Trevor Botting, TCI Commissioner of Police.

No names, ages or genders of those arrested have been revealed to the public yet.  Neither have any charges been reported.
