#TheBahamas, October 29, 2022 – Following the arrest of the leader and members of the Coalition of Independents (COI) on Wednesday, October 19, Leader, Lincoln Bain, has reported that he along with some of his members have filed multiple complaints against the officers involved.
Bain and the eight other individuals who were arrested were brought to court and pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
Bain said the treatment was inappropriate and that no Bahamian should experience that “in this country and in a democracy.”
The list of complaints includes assault and battery, unlawful detainment, and damaged clothing.
According to Bain, Prime Minister Phillip Davis should understand how he feels since he had a similar experience a few years prior.
He added that they simply want to live in a country where they are not “bullied by police officers” and can have a say in political matters.
