#SanJuan, Puerto Rico, October 13, 2022 – The 40th staging of the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association (CHTA) Caribbean Travel Marketplace was an absolute success, according to Nicola Madden-Greig, CHTA President.

“We had representation from nearly every Caribbean destination, and to me, that is an absolute success. We also had our inaugural travel forum talking about the business of tourism which was really exciting as it gave us an opportunity to really delve deep into the data and share it.

“That is something that will be included going forward as part of the Marketplace agenda so as to be able to talk about tourism in a very strategic and real way,” said Madden-Greig while speaking at the closing press conference at the Puerto Rico Convention Centre.

The Caribbean Travel Marketplace was held from October 4-5 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and it attracted approximately 800 delegates, including travel agents and over 25 buyer countries from across the globe.

It was the first Marketplace to be held in a post Coronavirus pandemic era.

The event was followed by the highly anticipated Caribbean Travel Forum and Awards Presentation and brought out several movers and shakers, among other notable individuals in the tourism and hospitality sector.
