#UnitedKingdom, September 2, 2022 – On August 31st,  mourners in Paris and London gathered at various monuments to celebrate the life of Princess Diana of Wales, known to the world simply as Princess Diana.  She died 25 years ago in a car crash in Paris, trying to escape tabloid photographers.

The royal died at only 36 years old to much public dismay.  She had been famous and well loved, known as ‘the people’s princess’.  After her divorce from Prince Charles, she still lived her life in the public eye.  She  championed victims of AIDS during the AIDS crisis, speaking out against the heavy stigmatization of the disease, and made continued efforts to ban landmines.

She was especially loved for her down to earth personality and the way she effortlessly mingled with the common people and pushed her sons to do the same.  The grief following her death was intense and poignant worldwide.

Diana would have been 61 this year, and a grandmother to 5 young children courtesy of her two sons Harry and William.  It’s likely she would have taken great solace in the advancement of HIV/AIDS care, which is leaps and bounds above where it was at the time of her death.

Being one of the most photographed women of all time was a testament to Diana’s popularity and the deep respect she had held in hearts around the world.

Both her sons indicated they would spend the day away from the press and with their families.
