#TheBahamas, August 5, 2022 – Grand Bahama is another step closer to seeing a buoyant cruise tourism industry.  Carnival Cruise Line with the minister for Grand Bahama, Ginger Moxey on July 28 and 29 held a briefing for more than 500 local business representatives and residents on its Cruise Port development.

The $200m project is already under construction and is estimated to be completed in late 2024.

In speaking at the recent introductory session Carnival President Christine Duffy said the new port is estimated to bring about 1,000 local jobs throughout its development, construction, and ongoing operation and ultimately create a one-of-a-kind experience for Grand Bahama visitors around the world.

She also noted that she looks forward to seeing the port come to life.

The pier will be able to accommodate two of Carnival’s Excel-class ships simultaneously.
