New Portal available in September 2022 for applicants who wish to apply for the $1000.00 Stimulus

Citizen Inflation Adjustment Stimulus

#TurksandCaicos, August 16, 2022 – On the 10th August 2022, the Turks and Caicos Islands Government commenced the distribution of its Citizen Inflation Adjustment Stimulus Cheques to pre-approved applicants.Eligible persons, not appearing on the preapproved list will be required to apply for this one-time payment of $1,000.00 by submitting information through a new portal.The new portal will become available in September 2022.It is anticipated that the vetting process of new applications, once started, will take a short time as the portal will allow only those persons who have not received a benefit during the preapproved process to complete an application.It is important that persons prepare for the opening of the new portal by collating all the required documentation needed to verify that the applicant meets the eligibility criteria.The programmes generally require as eligibility criteria:1. Submission of a completed form on the Portal2. Proof of documentation of Turks & Caicos Islands Status Holder or British Overseas Territory Citizenship.Proof of TCI Status may include the following: CategoryDocuments RequiredTCI Status;Turks & Caicos Islander Status Card; Turks and Caicos Islander Status certificate; ORTCI StatusCopy of applicant’s TCI birth certificate, along with a copy one or both parents’ TCI status Card; ORTCI Status;Copy of applicant’s TCI birth certificate, along with a copy of one or both parents’ birth certificate; ORTCI Statuscopy of applicant’s TCI birth certificate along with Islander Status Card/Island Status Certificate of one or both of his/her parentsa BOTC;Copy of BOTC passport (if passport is expired the expiration date could be no later than 31st March 2020; ORa BOTC;Copy of BOTC certificate;3.   That the applicant is not incarcerated and serving a prison sentence.4.   That the applicant is 18 years of age and over.5.  Proof that applicant is living in the Turks & Caicos Islands. Evidence would include an active NIB number, TCI voter’s registration number or copy of a utility bill displaying the applicant’s name which was issued in the TCI during the last 12 months.In extenuating circumstances, residents may be required to provide a letter from a Justice of the Peace or District Commissioner located in the TCI to validate residence in the TCI; which shall be accompanied by a standard affidavit.In the case of students, letters from Educational Institutions in the Turks and Caicos Islands must be provided as proof of residence (to identify that students were enrolled in the institution during the roll-out of the stimulus/or submission of their application).To be clear, this new portal, once opened will only accept new applications from applicants not listed on the preapproved list who would not have benefitted for one reason or another.All other stimuli programmes are closed for enquiries and processing.
