#Canada, August 20, 2022 – Canada approached a 104°F temperature in some areas earlier this month including Toronto as parts of the country literally blazed through a heat wave.

The country’s met service has put much of the south under a heat warning including parts of Alberta and British Columbia and Ontario.

Canada is the northernmost sovereign state in North America known for its freezing temperatures; so the sweltering temperatures are uncharacteristic to say the least.

The heat warnings there, as with other usually cooler countries which have been gripped by the phenomenon, are short bursts expected to dissipate within days. Dozens of heat records were broken according to local media across British Columbia, Ontario and Quebec.

Just weeks ago it was the UK, other parts of Europe like Spain and the United States which recorded their highest temperatures and a heat wave, which sparked destructive fires, melted infrastructure and resulted in hospitalizations and deaths.

Canada is now considering a plan to counter the significant spike in temperatures as experts had forecast, the heatwaves will only become increasingly severe and common.
